Oertzen’s rock lizard (Anatololacerta oertzeni)

Description

It has a total length (SVL+tail length) of around 20 cm. It is a patterned brown-green colour with two stripes running from the head to the base of the tail. Juveniles are distinguished by a blue tail. In adults, this blue tail fades to a uniform green-brown colour.

Habitat

It can be found in sclerophyllous habitat, rocky areas, or in anthropogenic inflenced habitats like orchards. Also on stone walls where they are often basking.

Diet

Anatololacerta oertzeni has a diet consisting of arthropods. For example, Coleoptera, Arachnidae, and Orthoptera.

Protection status

This species is listed as “Least Concern” by IUCN Red List.
