Golden grass skink (Trachylepis aurata)

Description

The golden grass skink has a short, robust tail and a brown-grey colouration on its back and bars of black along its flanks. Its legs are much more developed compared to other skinks.

Habitat

Found in areas of dense vegetation and grassland and stone walls or trees.

Diet

It feeds on insects and other invertebrates.

Protection status

This species is listed as “Least Concern” by IUCN Red List.
