Dwarf snake (Eirenis modestus)

Description

A non-venemous snake that can reach a total length of 60 cm. It has a grey-brown or grey-yellow colouration. Its pupils are round and its head has black blotches on it.

Habitat

Found in cultivated areas and areas of bushy vegetation or rocky places where it hides underneath stones.

Diet

Eirenis modestus feeds on invertebrates (spiders, scorpions, insects) and small lizards.

Protection status

This species is listed as “Least Concern” by IUCN Red List.
